Look closely. This quilt is comprised of 33 nine-patches, 24 half square triangle patches, 12 corner piece patches comprised of three pieces, and numerous plain old square patches. Each and every patch is three and a half inches, precisely. Once the 3 1/2 inch patches are made, piecing the quilt is a breeze as long as each patch is turned in the right direction.

i really like how the grain of the marble texture goes different directions!

I was out to see my 91yo grandmother a few weeks back. She loves to reminisce about the quilts she had made. She loves to get them out and show me every year or so. We look at the stitching, and she talks about how nobody does this kind of thing anymore.
The quilts are a little more "traditional" in style, of course...but still beautiful.
