This is a Mariner's Compass block. It still needs a border and quilting, but I'm really happy with how it has turned out. The block itself is comprised of 65 pieces and is pieced in quadrants.

DAY-am but that is gorgeous! I think I like it even better than your tromp d'oile (sp? I should stick to "fool the eye" and stop pretending I remember how to spell French) boxes from awhile back.
I know you said you never sell your pieces, but if you should get to feeling poorly and nobody else wants this one, keep me in mind. :)
